My photo, "Spirals", was picked as a Daily Deviation, triggering a flood of messages and favs. I'm very pleased. This was one of my very favorite photos from 3 years ago. The model was a sweetheart to work with, and I loved the merging spirals of his pose and the lighting. I thought we were very clever, and the photo very beautiful. Sadly, at the time, it didn't receive much attention. I love it so much that I put it in two gallery shows, but it didn't sell either time. Art happenings

Wow. If you followed my last journal entry, you know I had a photo in the PONCHO Fine Art Auction last weekend. I had previously been selling framed 11x14 photos for $200. At the recommendation of a gallery curator and some other artists I respect, I was told to substantially raise my prices. So I doubled them. At the auction, I listed a "fair value" price as $450. "Fair value" for art is completely subjective, and often as not is a number totally pullled out of the air. But you gotta put something down, right? It sold for $700! It was a donated photo for a charity auction. But still... nice to know somebody thinks my art is worth that much.

So I was pleased to hear that I got picked. I was even more thrilled when I found out that their jury picked photo to be one of only 3 photos in the live auction. I don't really get anything monetarily for it since it is a charity event, bu
